There are a few approaches Knee Deep can
employ when managing client projects:
Approach A — Full Client Confidentiality
Because some client projects or products are confidential and/or
in development, Knee Deep often serves as a go-between for our client
and prospective contractors, employees, and vendors. In such cases,
we can provide "just enough" project information, scope
out a specific market and related variables, garner participation,
and put personnel in place to move a project forward—all while
protecting a client's privacy and the product-development process.
For this approach, project communications, research, online postings,
and other activities are carried out under our Knee Deep banner,
a separate project-related gmail account, or a method of the client's
choosing.
Approach B — Knee Deep as "Employee"/Team
Member
Though Knee Deep provides all services as contractor (vs. employee
on payroll), for some projects Knee Deep carries out communications
and activities under our client's company umbrella. This may involve
using an e-mail account related to a client's website (...@sprocketsareus.com),
and wearing a hat or title of our client's choosing.
This can be a valuable approach for small organizations who'd like
to appear multi-departmental, and helps convey a sense of "organization"
vs. one-person show. It's also reflective of the team/partnership
approach Knee Deep employs on any project.
Letting
our Clients Focus on the Big Picture
Knee Deep shoulders the responsibility of various projects and routine
tasks, leaving our clients time to network, focus on other business
areas, secure investment capital, or fine tune a project (or company)
vision. We keep our client informed of a project's status through
periodic e-mails, detailed Excel spreadsheets, and other types of
communication.
